For over $700 I expected a little more than gold-painted plastic. The only actual metal components are the lid and drip tray. Even the carafe is plastic! I thought for that price I would at least be getting pyrex. When you have hot chocolate churning around in there for a few hours, it starts to taste like plastic. Also the nozzle fills with unsightly buildup almost immediately. You have to take the thing to pieces every day to clean it out. Very inconvenient.On the bright side, it's quiet, holds temperature well, and looks nice as long as you don't scratch the gold plastic. I made the mistake of cleaning a drip with the wrong side of the sponge and now the thing's got a big scuff mark down the front.
