These have a higher MSRP than other wire shelves. However, if you look at the specifications you will see that most of the other products don't have the 500 lbs per shelf capacity nor the 18'' width. At work, when new servers or other data center equipment arrive they are unboxed and placed on these shelves until they can be racked. The 500 lbs gives us piece of mind. At work and at home we use clear plastic containers like the Sterilite latch boxes to store various things of different sizes. The 18'' width allows those containers to be placed on the shelves without anything extending out from the shelf, which is great if you have kids.
